Isolinear Optical Chip Targeting

This puzzle requires the “Understanding Isolinear Chips” data page, (4) Isolinear chips, and the blueprint of the Cerritos.
Each of the isolinear chips should be placed upon the blueprint in a specific location.
Each chip has a different “assignment address” and different “assignment points” to help determine where to place them on the blueprint. The Address Guide list on the “Understanding Isolinear Chips” data page will help determine which areas of the ship are being referenced by the “assignment address” numbers near the top of each isolinear chip.
Once you work out the two areas of the ship indicated by an isolinear chip’s assignment address, the chip can be lined up precisely on top of the ship’s blueprint so that the two assignment points of the chip overlap with the indicated areas of the ship.
With the chip placed correctly, the two “info recall” circles will each show a letter to take note of. The “decryption key” portion of the isolinear chips can help determine the order of the noted letters.
The chip with the assignment address 00-28 should be placed so the upper left assignment point lines up with the dot indicating Outer Space on the blueprint. And the lower central assignment point should line up on the dot that indicates Sickbay. In this position, the info recall circles surround a letter N, and a letter S. Then, the chip's decryption key indicates that the letters N and S are the 6th and 8th letters of the final answer.
ANSWER REVEAL: The chip with assignment address 38-61 gives the letters T and E as the 1st and 2nd letters of the answer. Chip 82-33 gives the letters R and M in the 3rd and 4th positions. Chip 20-50 gives the letters I and U in the 5th and 7th positions. And chip 00-28 gives the letters N and S in the 6th and 8th positions. All together, the spelled out answer is TERMINUS. Looking at the “engineering spiral gear” envelope, terminus is synonymous with ENDING. So ENDING is one of the three keywords needed to access the envelope.
